BOARDING AND DOGGY DAYCARE

 

The Dog Dasher provides small-scale, homestyle Boarding and Doggy Daycare inside our personal home. My goal is to provide a comfortable, fun, and safe home-away-from-home experience while giving each dog plenty of individualized care and attention.

 

Unlike a traditional boarding facility, your pup will be staying right in our home and becoming part of our everyday routine while they are here! Because this is also our personal home, I intentionally keep the number of dogs in my care limited and carefully plan groups based on each dog’s personality, play style, size, individual needs, and compatibility.

 

Days typically include plenty of potty breaks, fenced-yard time, play and enrichment, attention and affection, and structured downtime throughout the day. Dogs are not expected to play or interact constantly, and separation or individual rotations may be used whenever needed for everyone’s safety and comfort.

 

The Dog Dasher is my full-time job, but Boarding is not a 24/7 constant-supervision service. There will be times I need to step away from home for other Dog Dasher services, errands, appointments, or personal and family time. Dogs must be comfortable safely and calmly resting while unattended when necessary.

• Picture and/or video updates during your pup’s stay

• Care inside The Dog Dasher’s personal home

• Access to our securely fenced yard for potty breaks, playtime, sniffing, and outdoor time

• Small, carefully planned groups

• Individual attention and affection

• Group play when appropriate and compatible

• Solo play and individual rotations when needed

• Structured rest periods throughout the day

• Feeding according to your provided instructions

• Administration of routine medications when discussed and approved in advance

• Plenty of potty breaks, exercise, playtime, and opportunities to relax

• A home-based environment designed to balance fun, comfort, structure, and safety

WHAT IS REQUIRED TO COME TO THE DOG DASHER?

To help maintain a safe environment for everyone, Boarding and Daycare dogs must meet The Dog Dasher’s current requirements.

 

Dogs must be:

• Fully crate trained and able to safely and calmly settle in a crate for rest, separation, and times when I am away from home

• Fully house trained

• Non-destructive inside the home and while crated

• Comfortable being away from their owner without significant separation anxiety or a need for constant human companionship

• Safe for me to handle and not display aggression toward people

• Appropriate for my home-based environment based on temperament, behavior, size, handling needs, and overall care requirements

• Current on required vaccinations, including Rabies, DHLP/Distemper-Parvo, and Bordetella

 

Dogs do not have to be appropriate for every dog or every play group to be considered. Compatibility is evaluated individually, and I use separation and rotations whenever appropriate. However, dogs whose behavior cannot be safely managed within my home environment may not be accepted.

 

Behaviors including significant separation distress, destructive behavior, escape attempts, excessive marking, persistent mounting, or other behaviors that create safety concerns may prevent a dog from being approved or may require discontinuation of services.

 

Previously established dogs with individually approved care arrangements may be handled differently based on their existing care plan.

 

 

SO, HOW DO I GET STARTED?

 

All new Boarding and Daycare clients must complete The Dog Dasher’s introduction and approval process before a Boarding or Daycare reservation can be confirmed.

 

STEP 1: INTRODUCTION FORM

 

Complete the current Introduction Form and service agreement so I can learn about your dog’s personality, routine, behavior, medical needs, previous care experience, crate training, and other important information.

 

STEP 2: VACCINATION RECORDS

 

Current records for Rabies, DHLP/Distemper-Parvo, and Bordetella must be provided before moving forward with the introduction process.

 

STEP 3: MEET & GREET

 

Once your information has been reviewed, we will schedule a Meet & Greet so your dog can meet me, become familiar with the environment, and begin introductions when appropriate.

 

STEP 4: PAID TRIAL DAY

 

All new Boarding and Daycare dogs must successfully complete a Trial Day before being approved for future stays. Trial Days are $25 per dog and payment is required at booking to reserve the date.

 

The Trial Day allows me to see how your dog adjusts to my home, handles structured rest and crate time, responds to separation, interacts with appropriate dogs, and settles into our routine.

 

STEP 5: APPROVAL

 

After a successful Trial Day, your dog may be approved to request future Boarding and Daycare reservations based on availability.

 

Completing the Introduction Form, Meet & Greet, or Trial Day does not guarantee approval. My priority is making sure The Dog Dasher is genuinely a safe and appropriate fit for each dog before committing to longer stays.

 

 

CURRENT NEW-CLIENT NOTICE

 

New Boarding and Daycare client intake is temporarily paused as of September 1, 2026 while I prepare for maternity leave.

Established clients may continue requesting services through December 20, 2026, based on availability. I plan to begin gradually returning from maternity leave around April 2027 and will reevaluate new Boarding and Daycare availability at that time.
