What you need to know before booking!

NEED A LITTLE HELP GETTING YOUR PET WHERE THEY NEED TO GO?

Scheduling veterinary and grooming appointments around work and everyday life can be difficult! The Dog Dasher offers limited Pet Transportation services to help get your pet safely to and/or from approved appointments when you aren’t able to make the trip yourself.

Transportation may be available for:

  • Veterinary appointments

  • Grooming appointments

  • Boarding or Daycare transportation

  • Dog Walks

  • Other approved pet-related transportation needs

Pet Transportation is offered by appointment only and based on my availability, travel distance, your pet’s size and behavior, and whether I have the appropriate equipment to safely transport them.

Transportation requests are not automatically guaranteed, so please contact me with the details before scheduling an appointment around my availability.

HOW WILL MY DOG BE TRANSPORTED?

Safety is my priority anytime a dog is riding with me. Dogs are transported secured inside a RuffLand kennel in my vehicle rather than riding loose.

My standard transportation setup uses a Large RuffLand kennel. Your dog must be able to comfortably and safely fit inside this kennel for transportation.

If more than one dog from the same household needs transportation, they may travel together only if they can safely and comfortably share the kennel being used. I will not transport dogs loose in the vehicle or require dogs to share a kennel if I do not feel it is safe or appropriate.

WHAT IF MY DOG DOESN’T FIT IN THE STANDARD KENNEL?

I also have an XL RuffLand kennel that may be available for larger dogs or situations where multiple dogs from the same household require additional space.

Because the XL kennel is not part of my everyday vehicle setup and requires additional setup, loading, securing, unloading, and storage, an additional $5 XL RuffLand Equipment Fee applies when it is required.

Acceptance will still depend on your dog’s size, behavior, ability to safely ride in the kennel, and my ability to safely handle and transport them.

CAN YOU TRANSPORT MULTIPLE DOGS?

Potentially! Multiple dogs from the same household may be transported together when they can safely and comfortably share the appropriate RuffLand kennel.

If both dogs fit safely and comfortably in my standard Large RuffLand, the standard transportation rate applies.

If the XL RuffLand is needed to safely accommodate them, the additional $5 equipment fee applies.

If the dogs cannot safely and comfortably share either available kennel, I will not be able to transport them together.

WHAT DOGS ARE APPROPRIATE FOR TRANSPORTATION?

Dogs must be safe for me to handle, load, unload, and transport.

Please disclose any history of:

  • Significant anxiety or panic while riding in vehicles or kennels

  • Escape attempts

  • Destructive behavior or chewing while confined

  • Aggression or handling concerns

  • Motion sickness

  • Mobility limitations or difficulty getting into or out of a vehicle

  • Any medical condition that could affect safe transportation

Transportation may be declined if I do not believe I can safely handle or transport your pet with the equipment available to me.

WILL YOU TAKE MY PET TO THEIR VETERINARY APPOINTMENT WITHOUT ME?

Depending on the appointment and veterinary office, I may be able to transport your pet to an appointment when you cannot attend.

Before the appointment, you are responsible for confirming that the veterinary office is willing to complete the visit without you physically present and arranging any necessary authorization, medical information, and payment directly with the veterinary office.

When appropriate, I can relay information provided by the veterinary staff and keep you updated during the transportation and appointment process.

I am acting as your pet’s transporter and caregiver, not as a substitute for you when veterinary decisions or medical consent are required.

DO YOU PROVIDE EMERGENCY PET TRANSPORTATION?

Pet Transportation through The Dog Dasher is not an emergency veterinary transportation or animal ambulance service.

If your pet is experiencing a medical emergency, please contact your veterinarian or the appropriate emergency veterinary hospital for instructions.

Transportation of a sick or injured animal may be considered depending on the circumstances, but I cannot guarantee availability or accept every medical transportation request.

HOW IS TRANSPORTATION PRICED?

Pet Transportation starts at $15 for approved transportation within approximately 5 miles / 10 minutes of The Dog Dasher.

Locations outside the local transportation area are subject to the $15 base transportation rate plus an additional mileage charge based on the total travel required.

If my XL RuffLand kennel is required, an additional $5 equipment/setup fee applies.

Additional charges may apply for extended appointment wait times, multiple stops, or other special transportation circumstances.

All applicable charges will always be discussed before transportation is confirmed.

Please visit the Service Rates page for complete and current transportation pricing.

HOW DO I REQUEST PET TRANSPORTATION?

Please submit an inquiry with:

  • Your general location

  • Your pet’s name, breed, and approximate weight

  • Number of pets needing transportation

  • Destination

  • Appointment date and time

  • Whether you need drop-off only, pickup only, or both

  • Any behavioral, medical, mobility, or transportation concerns I should know about

Once I have those details, I can determine whether I have availability and whether your pet can be safely accommodated with my transportation setup.

Pet Transportation is offered on a limited, case-by-case basis and must be approved in advance.
